Austral Harmony: Sylvan Glades & Crystal Fountains
11 April @ 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm ACST

A suite of gorgeous melodies from Handel’s pastoral romance Acis & Galatea alongside outdoor wedding music celebrating the delights of blossoming love.
Based on the Greek myth of Acis and Galatea as told by Ovid in his epic poem, Metamorphoses, George Frideric Handel’s drama in miniature is an enchanting evocation of love and nature expressed in a continual flow of mellifluous melody. A ‘rural prospect, diversified with rocks, groves and a river’ sets the Arcadian scene.
To accompany this evergreen entertainment, Austral Harmony perform small-scale trio settings from Johann Sebastian Bach’s festive ‘Wedding’ Cantata BWV 202.
