Sydney Concert Orchestra: Tales from the Homeland
18 May @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm AEST

After a sold-out tour of Indonesia, the Sydney Concert Orchestra joins forces with the Russian Orthodox Male Choir of Australia. Under Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, Omid Moheb-Zadeh, the SCO has come to specialise in Slavic repertoire, and this program pairs Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony, which quotes In the Field a Birch Tree Stood, with other folk songs that show off the rare basso profundo of ROMCA’s oktavists, Greg Alexandrovsky, Alex Dmitrieff and Paul Krivoshev, who can sing an astonishing three octaves below middle C.
