Queensland Symphony Orchestra: The Strauss Gala
10 May @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm AEST

Celebrate the Waltz King’s 200th birthday as maestro Gábor Káli and the QSO perform some of his most popular works, from the Gypsy Baron Overture to The Blue Danube and the Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka – a musical depiction of gossip. Another highlight is the Emperor Waltz of 1889. Written when Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria visited Berlin, it symbolised his bond with Emperor Wilhelm II of Germany and is still a highlight of the Vienna New Year’s Concert.
