Music in motion
In a radiant season finale, Schubert’s timeless Piano Quintet reveals a world of clarity and grace. From its bold opening flourish to its joyful, dancing conclusion, the music moves with ease, its melodies unfolding as if carried on air.
Alongside this classic, French composer Guillaume Connesson presents a vibrant modern counterpart. His Sextet bursts with colour and rhythmic drive, shifting effortlessly between shimmering lyricism and playful spontaneity, creating a sound world that feels fresh and alive.
In a world premiere, Adelaide-based composer Anne Cawrse unveils a new sextet glowing with expressive strength and poise, finding stillness within movement and bringing the season to a serene and luminous close.
