The Opera and Song Collective: Visions of Verdi
9 November @ 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm AEDT

The Opera and Song Collective invites you into the passionate, conflicted world of Verdi’s late masterpieces.
No composer captures sweeping melody, pathos, intrigue, and patriotic fire like Giuseppe Verdi. Under the baton of Simon Kenway, leading Australian singers present narrated, semi-staged excerpts from five of his greatest operas: I Vespri Siciliani, Un Ballo in Maschera, La Forza del Destino, Don Carlo, and Otello. Expect thrilling arias, ardent duets and stirring ensembles.
Featured artists include sopranos Emma Häll, Jillian Halleron, Maria Hemphill, Louise Keast, Kerry Nicholson, Leah Thomas an Emily Turner ; mezzo-sopranos Jill Sullivan and Angelique Tot; tenors Hongxin Jiang and Matt Gaskin; baritones Tristan Entwistle and Michael Lampard.
We are joined by the extended TOSC ensemble with actor /choreographer, Penny Korths.
With pianists Claire Howard Race and Martin Lijauco and the splendour of Mosman Art Gallery’s Grand Hall, this Verdi celebration promises an unforgettable afternoon.
