Genesis Baroque: Vivaldi’s Gloria
26 November @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm AEDT

Described as ‘impressive’ (Sydney Morning Herald), Melbourne’s own Genesis Baroque makes its Elisabeth Murdoch Hall debut as they join forces with the illustrious Choir of Trinity College.
This evening of deep musical devotion opens with Vivaldi’s eternally dazzling Gloria. Bursting with sunlit joy and dancing rhythms, the opening movement right through to the final notes perfectly showcase why this has long been a fan-favourite work by the Italian composer.
In contrast, the haunting Salve Regina draws listeners into a word of melancholy beauty as interwoven soprano and alto voices float above shimmering strings. Finally, two of JS Bach’s most deeply personal compositions, including his Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied with its spectacular eight-part double choir, round out this radiant program of Baroque masterworks.
