Brisbane Chamber Project: Wind Song
26 April @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm AEST

Windsong bursts to life with the luminous colours of the wind quintet—flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and French horn—celebrating Australian creativity and the excitement of new music. At its centre is the world premiere of Tomasz Holownia’s ‘The Enchanted Horse”, a vivid, imaginative work that sweeps listeners into a world of storytelling through sound.
Equally compelling is the unveiling of another world premiere work by Catherine Likhuta—the spirited ‘Once Upon a Seagull”.
These premieres stand alongside a third premiere, of ‘Airborne’, a lofty and exhilarating work by Michał Rosiak.
Ross Edward’s opening from Incantations, and a stellar work by English composer Cecilia McDowall, entitled Winter Music (Allegro) complete a dynamic tapestry of styles that showcases the ensemble’s expressive power and virtuosity. From shimmering delicacy to bold, resonant climaxes, Windsong promises an afternoon alive with colour, character, and discovery.
“A celebration of colour, imagination, and Australian musical voices.”
