APRA AMCOS has announced the 61 composer and songwriter finalists nominated for the 2025 APRA Professional Development Awards.

The Awards grant the winning musicians $10,000, to be used for attending workshops and music education courses, composer seminars and co-writing sessions, either local or internationally. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Sydney on 13 February.


In the Classical & Experimental category, the nominated composers are Corrina Bonshek, Han Yi (Henry) Liang, Jasmin Wing-Yin Leung, Josten Myburgh and Kate Milligan.

With a keen interest for site-responsive composition, Corrina Bonshek’s works have been featured across Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan, and she has been a finalist for the Art Music Awards and the Queensland Music Awards. She was the recipient of a 2024 Export Development Fund

A flautist and shō player, Henry Liang was also the recipient of a 2024 Export Development Fund, and was one of the inaugural recipients of the ABC Classic Composer Commissioning Fund.
