ABC Classic has unveiled this year’s Classic 100 countdown theme: this year it’s ‘Piano’.
Over the coming year, ABC Classic asks its listeners to vote for their favourite pieces for the piano – from solos to sonatas, from Chopin to ‘chopsticks’.
Last year’s poll, ‘Feel Good’, was topped by Beethoven’s ‘Ode to Joy’.
Details on the voting process will be announced in coming days.

ABC Classic has also announced the introduction of four new programs:
What’s On with Alice Keath will share a listener’s guide to Australia’s best classical concerts and live performances in their communities, airing Wednesday from 6pm.
Music Class with Genevieve Lang and Ed Le Brocq (Saturday at 12pm) is set to answer all your questions about classical music, diving deep into the music you know and love. Peaceful Piano (9pm Sunday) and Wind Down (Weekdays from 11pm) will both be hosted by performer, musician and storyteller Taj Aldeeb.
And after a short time off the ABC airwaves, Martin Buzzacott returns to ABC Classic to host Weekend Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 9am – 12pm.
