Australian music could make a bigger splash internationally, with over 70 artists, producers, and composers set to take their work to global audiences, thanks to nearly $1 million in new funding from Music Australia.
Announced today, the fifth round of Music Australia’s Export Development Fund will provide $997,787 to support 78 projects including headline tours, showcase debuts, artist residencies, publicity campaigns and international collaborations.
The matched-funding program, which backs emerging, breakthrough and established acts, focuses on three key areas: Performance and Touring, Professional and Artistic Development, and Market and Audience Development.

Among the recipients are ARIA Award-winning artist Emily Wurramara, who will tour her album Nara to Canadian folk festivals, and hip-hop artist LEE., who will head to Los Angeles to build industry connections.
Producer Chandler Jewels will travel to Toronto to collaborate with GRAMMY-nominated WondaGurl, while harpist-composer Paul Nicolaou will attend a video game music workshop in Vienna, led by BAFTA winner Austin Wintory.
