Bangarra Dance Theatre, Australia’s leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performing arts company, has announced Gamillaroi woman Amelia Thompson and Jaadwa man James Howard as the 2024 recipients of the prestigious David Page Music Fellowship.

This fellowship, established in 2017, aims to provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander composers and musicians with opportunities to collaborate on various projects with Bangarra.

The fellowship honours the legacy of Munaldjali and Nunukal man Roy David Page, Bangarra’s songman, composer, and Music Director. Page’s contributions remain the musical heartbeat of the company, and the fellowship seeks to perpetuate his influence by nurturing the next generation of Indigenous composers and musicians.
