Welsh baritone returns to Margaret River to duet amongst the vines with Rachelle Durkin.
In 2015 WA’s Leeuwin concert will be making a spectacular return in a program featuring loved classics of opera and stage musicals. The annual concert, which boasts a rich 30-year history, will feature Welsh bass baritone Bryn Terfel CBE and Australia’s Rachelle Durkin alongside the Perth Symphony Orchestra.
The enormously popular Terfel will be back on the Leeuwin stage for the first time since his appearance there in 1999. “I’m thrilled to be coming back to Leeuwin Estate for the concert in March,” he said. “I can’t believe it’s already 16 years since my last visit!”
It’s clearly not just opera that’s tempting him back: “The setting, the wine, the food and of course the music are all fresh in my mind – not to mention the wonderful hospitality and audience at Leeuwin. It promises to be the most fantastic evening. I can’t wait!”
