Sydney’s leading contemporary performance venue seeks residents interested in presenting new Australian work.
One of the world’s leading contemporary cultural venues, Carriageworks, is seeking new resident art companies. It’s anticipated that Carriageworks’ internationally renowned multi-arts and major events programme will draw an audience of 2 million per annum by 2021, continuing to build their diverse audience through high quality and immersive contemporary art experiences. The artist-led programmes represent Carriageworks’ commitment to reflecting social and cultural diversity.
Expressions of Interest from NSW arts companies and organisations are currenty being sought. Successful resident companies will be hosted with subsidised office accommodation, and granted the opportunity to partner with Carriageworks to present new Australian works at the venue. Carriageworks’ infrastructure boasts two large theatre spaces, one 800 seat and one 300 seat capacity, as well as a smaller gallery space, three rehearsal rooms, a scenery construction workshop, exhibition spaces, offices, a bar and café.
Current resident organisations include Erth, Force Majeure, Performance Space, Stalker/Marrugeku, Felix Media, Moogahlin, Sydney Chamber Opera and Doctor Cooper Studio.
