Chamber Music Adelaide (CMA) has announced the artists who have earned fellowships, premieres and developments as a part of its 2025 programs.

In partnership with MOD, Museum of Discovery, CMA’s 2025 Commissioning Program will feature the premiere of two new works within the museum’s Forever exhibition, with composers working alongside researchers.

Composer David Kotlowy’s Sometimes, for guzheng and Baroque string trio, fuses Chinese and European musical traditions in an exploration of different perceptions of time. Emerging composer Amelia Rooney will premiere THE TREES ARE TURNING OFF!, for string trio and electronics, which uses sound as a tool to reflect ecological decay.

Also announced are the three projects selected for the 2025 Chamber Seeds program, which offers up to $2,500 to support “experimental development” for member ensembles.

The Adelaide Cantata Band will receive support to further investigate the overlap between Baroque and jazz traditions; the Coruscalia Collective will create a new flute quintet incorporating spatial, aleatoric and movement elements; and the Rhythmsong Duo, led by harpist Emma Horwood and percussionist Steve Peterka, will...
