Producer Michael Cassel Group has announced the cancellation of the remaining Canberra and Adelaide legs of its national tour of the musical Dear Evan Hansen.
Ticket-holders have been advised of the cancellation via email late last week and assured that their purchases will be refunded in full.

The Australian premiere staging of the Broadway show (co-produced by Sydney Theatre Company) had its Australian debut in October 2024 in Sydney and earned positive reviews from critics and fans. It is now playing a season at Arts Centre Melbourne, set to conclude on 16 February.
The Canberra season was scheduled to commence on 27 February, the Adelaide season from 3 April.
“Dear Evan Hansen is a contemporary musical with an eager young fanbase, whose hunger for the story and songs was largely unsatisfied by the uninspired big-screen version released in 2021,” wrote Limelight’s reviewer of the Sydney opening night. “This Australian premiere staging, directed by Dean Bryant, should satisfy the cravings, thanks to its sharp visuals, persuasive cast, and vivid portrayal of the pains of youth in the digital age.”
