Bluesfest Byron Bay, Australia’s iconic and music festival, has announced that its 2025 edition will be its last.

After 35 years of showcasing the best in blues, roots, and beyond, the festival will take its final bow at the Byron Events Farm over the Easter weekend of 17 – 20 April, 2025.

“Bluesfest has been a labour of love, a celebration of music, community, and the resilient spirit of our fans,” stated Peter Noble, the festival’s director and driving force. “But after the 2025 festival, as much as it pains me to say this, it’s time to close this chapter.”

Since its inception in 1990, Bluesfest Byron Bay has grown into one of the most significant music festivals globally. Recognised by Pollstar as one of the top 10 music festivals in the world, it has hosted an impressive roster of artists over the years including BB King, Buddy Guy, Bob Dylan, Santana and Robert Plant, alongside contemporary voices such as Kendrick Lamar, Lauryn Hill and John Mayer. Australian music icons Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil and Crowded House have all graced Blues Fest stages.
