La Boite Theatre, Australia’s longest continuously running theatre company, marks its centenary year with program of four major productions, a series of encore performances from the company’s rich archive, and a host of special events that pay homage to La Boite’s storied past.
A Season of Premieres and Classics
The 2025 season, unveiled by Artistic Director Courtney Stewart, opens with a fresh take on Shakespeare’s Macbeth (March 6–22), co-directed by Stewart and Lisa Fa’alafi.
This hybrid production places the play’s iconic Weird Sisters front and centre, reclaiming their narrative in a combination of dance, movement, text and sound. Opening on International Women’s Day, this adaptation explores themes of spirituality, power, and ambition, offering a dynamic start to the centennial celebrations.
