With the Federal election looming, 19 leading Australian music organisations have joined forces to launch Vote Music 2025, a national campaign calling on all political parties to commit to a stronger future for Australian music ahead of the upcoming federal election.
Backed by APRA AMCOS, the Australian Independent Record Labels Association, Support Act, the Australian Guild of Screen Composers, Live Music Venues Alliance and Sounds Australia, among others, the campaign urges politicians to boost support for live music, protect artists’ rights, and grow jobs and cultural exports across the sector.
Described as a “critical moment” for the industry, Vote Music 2025 outlines five major priorities to ensure Australian music can thrive at home and on the world stage. It urges Parliament to build on recent progress – such as the establishment of Music Australia and post-pandemic support initiatives – and take the “next big step” toward securing a sustainable future for the sector.
