Creative Australia has announced the latest recipients of funding through its national touring initiatives, Playing Australia and the Contemporary Music Touring Program (CMTP), aimed at increasing access to live performing arts for audiences in regional and remote communities.
The new round of investment will support tours reaching audiences of all ages, strengthening connections between artists, presenters and communities across the country. In total, 22 projects will be funded through the Contemporary Music Touring Program, with additional support from Music Australia, enabling Australian musicians to present original work in 87 locations nationwide.

The funded projects span breakthrough contemporary music acts, major newly commissioned works and family-focused productions, with performances scheduled for regional venues, remote communities and youth audiences.
According to Executive Director of Arts Investment Alice Nash, touring remains a vital way of connecting Australians with live performance. “This investment will support artists and organisations to bring music, theatre and dance to audiences right across the country, including regional and remote locations, and help strengthen the networks that make touring possible,” she said.
