More than 500 South Australian artists and arts workers are set to benefit from the latest round of CreateSA’s Arts and Culture Grants Program, with over $970,000 awarded to 57 projects across literature, performing arts, and visual art, craft and design.

The February 2025 funding round will support projects taking place locally, nationally and overseas, with activities designed to strengthen communities and broaden engagement with the arts.

Among the recipients is Writers SA, which will produce an all‑First Nations edition of Splinter, South Australia’s only print literary journal. Independent artist Caleena Sansbury will create Mullamar, a new dance theatre work, while Chamber Music Adelaide will deliver a regional music festival in Port Augusta.

Other notable projects include Sunshine and the Dark Cloud, a visual theatre production by Fleur Elise Noble developed in consultation with young people, and Tactile World, an inclusive exhibition by Adelaide Contemporary Experimental co-designed with the blind and vision-impaired community to address barriers to participation in contemporary art.

Applications were assessed by sector experts against published criteria, with funding decisions made based on artistic merit, viability, and community impact.

The program is part of the South Australian Government’s commitment to fostering creativity and access to the arts across the state.
