The 2024/25 State Budget has been announced by South Australia’s Malinauskas Government. Granting a total of $75.9 million for the arts and events sector, the budget dedicates $47 million in funding within the fields of theatre, opera, jazz and screen.

The SA Government will invest $20.7m over five years into the establishment of an arts investment fund, supporting strategic initiatives into the state’s arts and culture industry.

State Opera South Australia, State Theatre Company South Australia and Country Arts South Australia will also see the construction of new, fit-for-purpose accommodation, with $19m invested in its development over three years.

The South Australian Film Corporation will receive $7.2m to extend its partnership with the ABC, supporting the development of screen content in South Australia.

In Mount Gambier, four permanent pavilions will be constructed for the annual Generations in Jazz festival, from a pool of $720,000 over two years.
