The musical remains a secret – but the star-studded cast for Squabbalogic’s Mystery Musical has been revealed.
Following the success of their 2015 Mystery Musicals, this year Squabbalogic will again present a musical theatre classic for one night only in Sydney where the identity of the production is only revealed once the audience have taken their seats. The musical will remain secret until the curtain goes up, but Mystery Musical #3 promises a “very different musical feel” to last year’s secret performances of Bye Bye Birdie and Hello, Dolly. The company aims to reach a fundraising targe of $25,000 to support their 2016 season.
“The enthusiasm for our Mystery Musicals in 2015 was beyond our expectations of this curious idea,” said Jay James-Moody, Squabbalogic’s artistic director, in an interview with Theatre People. “But they have become a much needed fundraiser for our seasons as we take steps to support our independent artists and work towards adequate wages for the sector, so we’re delighted audiences have been clamouring for more.”
