Sydney Improvised Music Association has released the 2025 program for the Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival (SIWJF).
Subtitled ‘Make an Expression’, this year’s festival celebrates the achievements of female jazz composers and performers with 13 concerts staged in the heart of the city and in Penrith from 23 October.

This year’s lineup features two superstar international performers. Young American vocalist and five-time Grammy winner Samara Joy makes her Sydney debut with performances at The Joan (23 October) and City Recital Hall (24 October), the latter of which also features a performance by vocalist Kristin Berardi and bassist Sam Anning.
Joined by the American PUBLIQuartet, Japanese piano sensation Hiromi performs her program, The Piano Quintet, fusing classical and jazz styling on a City Recital Hall performance on 23 October, with Australian composer Freyja Garbett‘s Music From the Waves as opener.
