The Seymour Centre at University of Sydney has announced the resignation of its Artistic Director and General Manager Tim Jones, effective early May, 2025.
Jones held the role for 16 years and, during his tenure, has helped cement the Seymour Centre’s position in the arts ecology of Sydney.
Said Jones: “When I first took on the role at Seymour Centre, I articulated my vision for the Centre’s future: to embrace its integral role within the University of Sydney, drawing inspiration from leading university-based performing arts centres worldwide, presenting work that stirs the intellect and the soul. I’m so proud of what we have been able to achieve over this time.”

Highlights of Jones’ term include the launch of an annual arts education program, which engages over 35,000 school students, major venue refurbishment projects and 15 seasons of work from the independent theatre sector including a number of Sydney Theatre Award-winning productions, including the winner of the 2024 Award for Best Production, The Inheritance.
