Kate Ireland: Australian Baroque Table – Part of Head On Photo Festival Open Program
24 November @ 11:00 am - 29 November @ 5:00 pm AEDT

Australian Baroque Table is a contemporary still life culinary seafood photography exhibition by Sydney based photographer Kate Ireland.
Australian Baroque Table opens the sumptuous world of Australian seafood, from local Blue Swimmer Crab to Sydney Rock Oysters, Balmain Bug, and King Prawns. Inspired by the Baroque still life paintings of Jan Davidsz. de Heem, this series embraces the transience of seafood and traces food rituals within an Australian context through contemporary still life photography. Each photograph transforms everyday food preparation rituals and ingredient textures into food art that celebrates Australia’s local foodways.
