For one night only, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra returns to Robert Blackwood Hall to perform one of classical music’s greatest works, Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony.

Conducted by Benjamin Northey, the performance will also showcase three of the most popular works in the canon including Glinka’s Overture to Ruslan and Ludmila and a suite from Bizet’s opera Carmen. New MSO Concertmaster, Natalie Chee, will step onto the Monash stage for the first time to perform the solo in the Meditation from Massenet’s Thaïs.

This special performance will see the musicians of the MSO joined by members of the Zelman Memorial Symphony Orchestra to perform Beethoven’s Seventh. Named after Alberto Zelman, the MSO’s founder and leader until 1932, the ZMSO formed in 1933 when the MSO was converted to an all-professional orchestra. This will be the first time the MSO and ZMSO reunite on stage. In the MSO’s 120th year, take your seat in Robert Blackwood Hall to celebrate a historic milestone.
