Australian National Academy of Music: Clara & Robert
15 October @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm AEDT

Perhaps one of the most iconic couples in the realm of classical music, Robert and Clara Schumann were both celebrated musicians in their own right – admired in their lifetime and revered in the present. Clara’s public career was more as a pianist and Robert’s a composer but within the privacy of their relationship these roles developed to a companionship where the two stimulated and sparred each other endlessly. Their long-lasting influence extends into today where their works are well-known and extensively performed.
ANAM musicians bring together Schumann and Schumann in a dedicated performance at the Good Shepherd Chapel. A mixture of both accompanied and chamber works, this program celebrates the Schumanns’ contributions to the Romantic canon, and pays tribute to them as individual composers.
