Noosa Chorale: Concert: Viva Vivaldi
22 May @ 2:00 pm - 23 May @ 4:00 pm AEST
Kim Kirkman conducts choir, orchestra and soloists performing Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria” and other choral works by the composer.
Antonio Vivaldi, known as “The Red Priest” for his fiery shock of red hair, will come vividly to life in Noosa Chorale’s Viva Vivaldi concert this May.
Renowned for his hundreds of concertos, Vivaldi also composed a vast collection of virtuosic choral music. His “Gloria”, which he wrote in the early 1700’s, is a magnificent work that traverses the emotions from joyfully boisterous to hauntingly tranquil.
Under the baton of Kim Kirkman, Noosa Chorale with professional soloists, will present the “Gloria” along with other choral pieces composed by this giant of the Baroque period.
The accompanying ensemble orchestra will also present a selection of Vivaldi’s finest concertos.
