: Darebin Arts – Music, Resistance and Gender
1 April @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm AEDT

Presented by Darebin Arts as part of Darebin City Council’s 2026 International Women’s Day celebrations.
The Molly Hadfield Social Justice Oration returns for its twelfth iteration, always a highlight in the Darebin community calendar. This annual event, established in 2013 in tribute to the social justice legacy of local trailblazer Molly Hadfield OAM, will in 2026 explore the intersections of social justice, resistance, music and gender. Esteemed music industry professionals Candice Lorrae, Janelle Johnstone and Marita Dyson are this year’s guest orators. The event will be MCd by artist, writer and curator Zena Zada Cumpston, following her appearance as a speaker at the 2025 Oration.
Join us for an inspiring and thought-provoking evening of discussion, music and ideas!
The event is FREE to attend but bookings are essential. All ages are welcome.
