Australian National Academy of Music: In Conversation with Claire Edwardes
8 October @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm AEDT

Claire Edwardes OAM — described as Australia’s “sorceress of percussion” (City News, Canberra) — is the only artist to have received the APRA Art Music Luminary Award four times. A charismatic percussion virtuoso, Claire moves fluidly between her roles as Artistic Director of Ensemble Offspring (Australia’s leading new music ensemble), soloist, and concerto performer with all of Australia’s major symphony orchestras. Her recent premieres include works by Anne Cawrse, Natalie Williams and Iain Grandage.
In 2022, Claire was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her outstanding contribution to Australian music, followed in 2023 by the Australian Women in Music Award for Creative Leadership.
Join Claire as she reflects on her remarkable career and shares insights into Ensemble Offspring’s upcoming 2026 residency at ANAM.
