Melbourne Recital Centre: Five Pathways to Love
27 March @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm AEDT

A transcendent celebration of Sufi music from Pakistan, the Arab world, Andalusia, Iran, and Turkey.
Performed by the mystical lineage of legendary Sufi musician and poet Hazrat Amir Khusro, Five Pathways to Love brings together the hauntingly beautiful vocals of Ustaad Fareed Ayaz and Abu Muhammad Qawwals, one of Pakistan’s leading Sufi singing collectives, with the masterful talents of Tarab Ensemble.
Joined by the Victorian Trade Union Choir, the charming vocals of Maryam Parsi, Elham (Sufi dance) and the captivating Mana Duet, they carry audiences towards shared ascension.
Forty artists weave soul-stirring melodies spanning Pakistan, the Arab world, Andalusia, Iran and Australia with the fluid beauty of sacred dance, poetry readings by Yousef Alreemawi in Arabic, and live calligraphy. This unprecedented performance showcases Sufi traditions through a common alphabet shared across Urdu, Farsi, Ottoman Turkish and Arabic.
Qawwali is presented as a living inheritance, designed not only to be heard but experienced. For one night only, witness a powerful performance that lifts the spirit and opens the heart.
