Australian Chamber Choir: Great Romantic Voices: Middle Park
21 June @ 3:00 pm - 4:05 pm AEST

Middle Park
In the hands of Romantics like Bruckner and Brahms, music became increasingly expressive, harmonically inventive, passionate and theatrical. In the twentieth century, composers like Herbert Howells, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Amy Beach and Samuel Barber resisted the atonality and serialism embraced by their contemporaries and continued to explore the rich extremes of lush harmony and sweeping melodies. These “Greater Romantics” provide us with a program that runs the gamut from emotionally-charged to blissfully peaceful.
