Tempo Rubato: Haneulle Lovell and Reuben Tsang

14 August @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm AEST

Haneulle is a violinist and musical collaborator whose sensitive and intuitive touch has garnered her a diverse performance portfolio as an emerging Australian performer.
Having successfully completed the Queensland Symphony Orchestra Academy in 2024, Haneulle appears regularly with the orchestra as a casual violinist and looks forward to being on contract again in 2026. Haneulle brings her love and commitment for musical togetherness and community into many facets of her playing career, and these values have recently been acknowledged through the generous awards of the Conservatorium Medal (co-recipient, 2025) and the Richard Pollett Memorial Award (2025).Praised for his “technical wizardry and versatility” (Sounds Like Sydney), Cairns-born Reuben Tsang began learning the piano with Koko Julian before moving to Brisbane to study at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, first under the guidance of Natasha Vlassenko OAM and, presently, with Daniel de Borah. He was awarded the Conservatorium Medal for 2024.

Over the last two years, Reuben has appeared as concerto soloist with the Melbourne and Queensland Symphony Orchestras and has performed nationally in recital and at festivals including the Bendigo Chamber Music Festival, Canberra International Music Festival, Queensland Art Song Festival, Megalong Music Festival, Out West Piano Fest, and at the Musical Chairs Chamber Music Festival in Montreal.
