Distant Cousin Productions: Jatbula
19 July @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm AEST

A group of hikers take on the iconic Jatbula Trail. As the hours and days pass, familiar rhythms take over and small tensions flicker beneath the surface. Old friends and new learn more about each other – and themselves – than perhaps they ever cared to.
And when one of them goes missing, what follows is not a search so much as a slow unravelling — of certainty, of friendship, of the quiet assumptions they’ve carried with them. In a landscape that offers no clear edges and no easy answers, the group is left to reckon with what they know, what they’ve missed, and what they may never understand.
A meditation on friendship, solitude and loss, Jatbula is a story about the limits of knowing – and the uneasy space between finding yourself and losing your way.
This is a new work written by local artist Hugh Bond and produced by Hugh Bond and Simon Pickering aka Distant Cousin Productions.
