Tempo Rubato: Joshua Hyde & Alex Waite
20 July @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm AEST

Following a 2025 tour in Japan, pianist Alex Waite and saxophonist Joshua Hyde return to Australia for a rare program devoted to French chamber music and the classical saxophone repertoire. Best known for their work with the Elision Ensemble and performances of contemporary music internationally, this concert presents the duo in a different setting, joined by saxophonist Jason Xanthoudakis for Poulenc’s Trio.
Joshua Hyde is Professor of Saxophone and Contemporary Chamber Music at the Haute école de musique de Genève and a graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he studied with Claude Delangle.
Australian pianist Alex Waite is the recipient of the 2024 Dwight and Ursula Mamlok Prize Berlin and is currently based in Stuttgart, where he teaches at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart and ESML in Lisbon.
