HotHouse Theatre: Richard Roxburgh In Conversation with Marion Potts
11 April @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm AEST

He’s the multi-award-winning creator and performer of iconic characters like Cleaver Greene in the ABC hit series ‘Rake’, and the notorious Roger Rogerson in the ABC’s controversial mini-series ‘Blue Murder’. He embodied Prime Minister Bob Hawke in Channel TEN’s telemovie ‘Hawke’ and again in the Netflix television series The Crown; he recently portrayed controversial former Queensland Premier Joh Bjelke-Petersen in the 205 Stan documentary ‘Joh: Last King of Queensland’. His many films include Moulin Rouge, Mission Impossible II, Oscar & Lucinda and Children Of The Revolution.
In theatre, Roxburgh’s legendary stage credits include Waiting For Godot with Hugo Weaving in Sydney and London and the title characters of STC’s Cyrano de Bergerac and Uncle Vanya, and Neil Armfield’s acclaimed Belvoir production of Hamlet. He has shared the stage with many of Australia’s finest actors including Jacki Weaver, John Bell and especially Cate Blanchett, with whom he appeared at Sydney Theatre Company and on Broadway.
Richard will be joined on stage by the acclaimed director Marion Potts for a candid conversation about his journey from early years in his home region to the heights of his celebrated career. Marion has led many of the country’s leading theatre companies and was a founding member of HotHouse Artistic Directorate.
Don’t miss this special conversation, enriched by personal insights and highlights of an extraordinary life and body of work.
