Biennale of Sydney: Ruhail Qaisar and Marcus Whale
27 March @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm AEDT

The Art After Dark program will transform White Bay Power Station on Friday evenings with music, art and outdoor food markets. Curated by Liquid Architecture and featuring Ladakhi musician Ruhail Qaisar and genre-agnostic electronic singer-songwriter based on Gadigal Land Marcus Whale on 27 March.
From Ladakh in the far north region of India, Ruhail Qaisar presents a sound field with a gripping urgency and intensity. Harnessing the immediacy and viscerality of noise music and power electronics, Qaisar’s music is attuned to a fractured world; a mirror to socio-political confusion.
Marcus Whale is a prolific multidisciplinary artist with an abundance of creative pursuits that effortlessly and authentically traverse genre and communities. Whale presents captivating narratives using sound, body and light, echoing Qasiar’s futurist interrogations of an unsettled modernity.
Recorded music before and between performances will be selected by Jungist (FBi Radio).
