Scalp: Scalp #003: Sing Warmly
23 July @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm AEST

Scalp 003: Sing Warmly blurs the boundaries between concert performance and sound installation. Featuring 70 minutes of music for spatialised winds and percussion, the evening transforms the venue into an active collaborator, inviting audiences to experience sound as a living, shifting presence.
The program includes world premieres by Australian composers Louis Wishart and Charlotte Leamon. Wishart’s Approaching a Mother, May 13–19 and a Winter draws on bird and cicada transcriptions developed during a Bundanon residency, creating a work shaped by audience movement through the space. Leamon’s Intertidal Pools evokes the rockpools of Gerringong through an immersive sonic landscape that traces the ebb and flow of ocean currents.
Alongside these new works, Scalp celebrates the legacy of American experimental pioneers Alvin Lucier and Pauline Oliveros, presenting I am sitting in a room and Four Meditations for Orchestra—landmark works exploring resonance, listening, improvisation and collective presence.
