Sydney Chamber Music Institute: Schubert and Brahms – The Trout and the Trio
16 August @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm AEST

An afternoon of warmth, wit, and virtuosity in the golden light of a Sunday. Schubert’s Trout Quintet is one of chamber music’s most beloved works — playful, songful, and irresistibly charming. Alongside it, Brahms’s Horn Trio brings a different richness, its famous finale bursting into a joyous hunting-call rondo. Together, the two works make for an afternoon as generous as chamber music gets.
Performing are some of Sydney’s most experienced chamber musicians — Adele Ohki, Robert Johnson, Alexander Yau, James Eccles, Chris Bennett, and Elsen Price — sharing an intimate space where the music can be felt up close.
This concert is part of a series building toward October’s launch of the Sydney Chamber Music Institute. Performing alongside our professionals is one of SCMI’s first enrolled students — a preview of the mentorship at the Institute’s heart.
