The Concourse: Sydney Mozart Society – Sonus Piano Quartet with Simon Tedeschi
29 September @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm AEST

Sonus Piano Quartet with guest pianist Simon Tedeschi brings together four accomplished musicians well-known to Sydney audiences to celebrate the art of sound production. Their individual artistry, passion and technical skills combine to weave beautiful interplay into dynamic, magical performances. Here they present an example of the peak of Classical poise and elegance, a prize-winning British Phantasy and a passionate, French Romantic work. In K 493, Mozart balances the piano and string trio as distinct, often conversational, sub-ensembles. In the Phantasy, Bridge blends structural solidity with French-influenced romanticism to produce a work that Benjamin Britten described as “sonorous with lucidity”. Fauré’s Opus 15 is one of his most famous and popular early chamber works, marked by a youthful intensity and dramatic power.
