Springboard Opera: The Descent of Orpheus by Charpentier
10 July @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm AEST

His lover lost and a journey into darkness. Orpheus risks everything for Eurydice – what would you risk for love? This July, we invite you to immerse yourself in the cool waters of the river Styx and descend into the Underworld, in Springboard Opera’s Queensland premiere of Charpentier’s The Descent of Orpheus. Headed by some of the foremost creative leaders of Baroque music and movement (Lois Redman and Peter Roennfeldt), you’ll find a rich tapestry of period dance set next to storytelling for a modern audience, and an orchestra comprised of authentic period instruments ready to transport you into the rich sounds of Baroque Opera.
