Woodend Winter Arts Festival: The Marriage Game
6 June @ 5:45 am - 6:45 pm AEST

The Highly Strung Players, an absurdist troupe founded by author Peter Rose, returns to the Woodend Winter Arts Festival with three short plays from Rose’s six-part series The Ones. In these rehearsed readings we meet two married publishers at different stages in their long, brittle relationship. An evening of witty, irreverent repartee is guaranteed.
The Highly Strung Players
The Highly Strung Players have been performing absurdist plays since 1989. These are rehearsed readings, with a changing ensemble. Peter Rose’s plays – mostly satirical duologues – are concerned with the rhythms and indirections of conversation, with its whimsicalness, flirtatiousness and evasions. The coming performance follows sold-out appearances at fortyfivedownstairs in Melbourne.
