Maestro Umberto Clerici conducts the complete Roman Trilogy by Respighi. Hear the Fountains of Rome, Pines of Rome and Roman Festivals conjuring the beautiful, the exuberant and the cinematic city of ruins and romance. An ambitious feat for an orchestra of any age, this unmissable concert is a breathtaking showcase of the best young musicians selected from across the country.
The Australian Youth Orchestra is joined by virtuoso soloist Joshua Batty, former Principal Flute with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Batty will perform the World premiere of a Flute Concerto by AYO alumnus and Sydney-based composer, Harry Sdraulig. In this evening of cinematic technicolour, Resphigi and Sdraulig are two composers revelling in colour, lyricism and orchestral drama. Come revel with AYO.
