National Theatre of Parramatta: The Western Line
26 November @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm AEDT

The Western Line is a major new Australian work by Tusitala and People Weaver, Gabriel Faatau’uu-Satiu. The play follows a man travelling from Circular Quay to Western Sydney, tracing a journey that is deeply personal and connected to his ancestors.
As he travels west, the railway becomes a map of another kind. The stations, tracks and rhythms of the train sit alongside the stars, the ocean, his pe’a and the stories of his ancestors. He encounters fellow travellers whose lives offer moments of recognition, refuge and perspective.
Through these connections, the play explores what it means to live as a Pacific person in diaspora, and how culture continues to shape us when we are far from our ancestral home. The journey moves through questions of family, migration, identity, language, culture and belonging.
Presented as part of National Theatre of Parramatta’s Heartland Festival 2026.
