Soprano Alexandra Flood lets her much-admired coloratura loose in three concerts of arias to celebrate the centenary of Australia’s very own Dame Joan Sutherland. She’s joined in an as yet unannounced program by pianist Vatche Jambazian and flautist Jonathan Henderson (which suggests that Lucia’s mad scene will be on the menu) for works indelibly associated with “La Stupenda”. Promised highlights will include music from Thomas’s Hamlet and Meyerbeer’s Dinorah, songs and arias by Ravel, Handel and Bach, along with the stratospheric Bell Song from Delibes’ Lakmé.
