Opera in the Country: Tones & Tides
27 June @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm AEST

Islands are places of crossing. Just as ferries bring communities together across the Redlands Coast, music becomes the vessel through which stories are shared. In this concert series, opera leaves the grand theatre and comes to the Redlands.
Renowned in Victoria for bringing top level artistry to the tiniest rural towns, ‘Opera in the Country’ tours for the first time in Queensland to present five intimate classical music concerts across the picturesque North Stradbroke, Coochiemudlo, Russell and Macleay islands.
From Bizet’s Carmen to works by Australian icons Margaret Sutherland and Miriam Hyde, each work has journeyed far before arriving here on the shores of our islands, to bring us together for an afternoon of beauty and musical connection.
Free pre-concert music workshops for kids promise a fun and fulfilling day out for everyone. The workshop runs for 45 minutes, starting 1.5 hours before the concert, no booking required.
