Fremantle Chamber Orchestra: WORLD PREMIERE by John Keene
31 October @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm AEDT

Geminiani’s La Follia (madness) is a very recognisable old tune of unknown origine, worked over by numerous composers, instantly thrilling. Vivaldi’s daring dissonances in his Sinfonia RV169 contrast beautifully with Mozart’s exquisite Adagio from his K334 followed by the richly layered Air from Grieg’s Holberg Suite. The WORLD PREMIERE John Keene’s own composition is followed by Bottesini’s Grande allegro di concerto, “alla Mendelssohn” and to culminate in Swiss romantic Joachim Raff’s slow movement of his String Quartet No1: Mässig langsam, getragen. The amazing John Keene conducts, is the soloist in the Bottesini and presents his own first composition Reflections.
