Melbourne Recital Centre: Xani Kolac + Nathan Schram (USA)
30 July @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm AEST

Hear the violin and the viola amplified and transformed.
Two trailblazing string players from opposite sides of the world join forces in the intimate Primrose Potter Salon. Pushing the limits of contemporary string playing, this concert features two solo sets from Naarm/Melbourne-based violinist Xani Kolac, and violist from the GRAMMY-winning Attacca Quartet, Nathan Schram (USA).
With an industrial approach to new electronic and string music, Nathan has collaborated with Björk, James Blake, and Billie Eilish, and released three solo records of his own compositions on Better Company Records and New Amsterdam Records. Xani redefines the possibilities of the electric violin within contemporary and improvised music. Having opened for Hania Rani and John Cale, Xani performs works that move between electronic dance music and jazz/improvisation.
For one night only, hear the violin and the viola amplified and transformed through electronic effects, laptop, and live looping.
