Anneleen Lenaerts, the Principal Harpist of the Vienna Philharmonic, may be suffering jetlag, but that doesn’t stop her offering an eloquent insight into the inner workings of her instrument, which has just accompanied her across the world. 

Having recently returned from a US tour with the Philharmonic, conducted by Christian Thielemann, a tour which also included various chamber and solo projects, she didn’t have much time to recover before heading off again, this time to Australia for her first ever Antipodean visit. She is here to perform in a trio with London Symphony Orchestra flautist Adam Walker and solo violist Timothy Ridout, a BBC New Generation Artist, for Musica Viva Australia’s latest tour, Among the Birds and the Trees
