This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings.
This ANZAC Day (25 April) offers a chance to pause and honour the service and sacrifice of Australians.
From dawn services to community marches and commemorative concerts, the occasion allows for Australians to reflect and honour our connections across culture and generations.
Here are some of the commemorative musical events happening across the ANZAC weekend near you, state-by-state.
Australian Capital Territory
Canberra’s Dawn Service takes place 4:30am at the Australian War Memorial, and there’s a Last Post Ceremony on at 4:30pm.
Local bar are also capping of the day’s events with live music, alongside Two-Up aplenty – with local musicians performing at Kingston’s The Dock from 5:30pm and Olim’s Bar and Bistro from 6:30pm.
New South Wales
On 24 April in the Sydney Opera House’s Forecourt, the Australian Remembrance Foundation hosts the Harbour Sunset Tribute – a free performance that gathers Australian military, veteran and civilian artists.
